DriveReady — Privacy Policy

DriveReady ("the app", "we", "us") is a personal vehicle-management app for iOS. This policy explains what information the app collects, why, and how it's used and stored. If you have any questions, contact details are at the bottom of this page.

Information you provide directly

• Account details: your email address and a password, used to create and secure your account.
• Vehicle details: nickname, make, model, registration number, mileage, fuel type, and reminder dates (MOT, tax, insurance, service) that you enter yourself.
• Photos: any photo you choose to add of your vehicle, taken with your camera or selected from your photo library.
• Documents: any insurance certificates, MOT certificates, service invoices, or other files you choose to upload.

Location data

When you use Fuel Finder or Toilet Finder, the app asks for your device's current location. This is used only to find nearby fuel stations or public toilets and is sent to the relevant lookup service at the moment of your search. We do not store a history of your location, and location access can be turned off at any time in your iPhone's Settings.

Camera and photo library

The app requests camera and photo library access only when you choose to add a vehicle photo or upload a document. Nothing is accessed in the background, and no photos are read without you actively picking one.

How your data is stored

Your account, vehicle details, and documents are stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database and storage provider, with access rules ensuring only you can see your own data. Your vehicle's active-selection preference (which car you're currently viewing) is stored locally on your device only.

Third-party services this app uses

The app connects to the following services to provide its features. None of these services receive your account email, password, or personal identity — only the specific data needed for that feature:

• UK Fuel Finder (GOV.UK Fuel Finder service): your approximate location, to return nearby fuel prices.
• DVSA MOT History API: a vehicle registration number you enter, to return that vehicle's official MOT history.
• DVLA Vehicle Enquiry Service: a vehicle registration number you enter, to return basic vehicle details.
• The Great British Public Toilet Map: your approximate location, to return nearby public toilets.
• Anthropic (Claude API): if you choose to "scan" an uploaded insurance document, the document's contents are sent to Anthropic's API to extract the renewal date and insurer name. This only happens when you actively request it.
• Apple Maps / Google Maps: if you tap a location for directions, your device opens the relevant maps app directly.

Data retention and deletion

Your data is kept for as long as your account remains active. You can delete individual vehicles or documents at any time within the app. To delete your account and all associated data entirely, contact us using the details below.

Children's privacy

DriveReady is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to ask what data we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, contact us below.

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly.
